Happy Halloween Lil Elephant....

Malia dressed up as a lil elephant for her 1st Halloween.
We took her to VF mall in the afternoon and then
went trick-or-treating at night with cousins
Brandon-Iron man and Taylor-Super Woman.
It rained a little and was a bit windy,
but Malia had fun and didn't get scared at all...
she did well on her first Halloween outing.
We're so proud of our lil 9-month old elephant daughter!

All dressed and ready to go....

We all took turns holding 17lb. Malia..

No Dada not Green Beans Again....

Green Beans are not Malia's favorite vegetable to eat. Her choice would be either Sweet Potatoes or any fruit like Peaches or Bananas, anything else but Green Beans! Oh and NO Peas please! Malia HATES Peas....like Mommy like Daughter :) Maybe Malia thinks Green Beans are Peas since they're both green? Anyways, Here's what Green Beans will do to Malia. Hey wait on the other hand maybe Green Beans aren't so bad afterall...check out the video.

Malia's Favorite Book-"Coco Counts" by Sloane Teffen

Malia loves books...especially the way they taste! Her favorite book is "Coco Counts" by Sloane Tanen. Thank you Nana-Edna.

Once you say the first line "If 1 chick is good" she automatically smiles and gets very excited. The book counts to ten and goes like this:
If 1 chick is good
Are 2 chicks much better?
If 3 chicks are chilly
should 4 knit a sweater?
If 5 chicks are hungry
and 6 bake a cake
when 7 chicks are sleeping
should 8 stay awake?
and if 9 chicks play soccer
while 10 play the cello
when we count to 100
will the whole world be yellow?
ok the book counts to 100, well not really they jump from 10 to 100. The last page has 100 chicks, one has a pink bow (Coco) and another one has sunglasses (I tell Malia that's Coco's boyfriend :)) The rest of the chicks are "normal" looking chicks, but the picture attracts her attention because of the color and the black round eyes on each chick...very cute. I would recommend this book to all Mother's with babies. Here are a few pictures of Malia sitting in her highchair, looking at her favorite book-"Coco Counts".... (unfortunately, I was unable to catch a picture of her excitement smile...but she does have a curious, hmmmm look on her face...so cute!)

Ni Hao, Kai-Lan

Daddy helped design Malia's new blog template. I love it! Daddy did an awesome job. Malia's favorite cartoon is "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan". It's about a Chinese girl named Kai-Lan who has all animal friends to play with. (from left to right-Lulu the Rhino, Rintoo the Tiger, Hoho the Monkey, Tolee the Koala and of course Kai-Lan the Girl hee hee). This cartoon is similar to Dora the Explorer, except the lil girl is Chinese and teaches Mandarin words. Pretty cool. Malia can now learn a few words in Spanish from Dora and Mandarin from Kai-Lan. Especially since Mommy and Daddy are not fluent in our own languages :( Anyways, here are a few pictures of Malia multi-tasking...walking along our coffee table and watching Ni Hao, Kai-Lan. btw, "Ni Hao" in Mandarin means "Hello" and Mei Mei is Malia's nickname & Chinese name, which in Cantonese means "Beautiful"
