Once you say the first line "If 1 chick is good" she automatically smiles and gets very excited. The book counts to ten and goes like this:
If 1 chick is good
Are 2 chicks much better?
If 3 chicks are chilly
should 4 knit a sweater?
If 5 chicks are hungry
and 6 bake a cake
when 7 chicks are sleeping
should 8 stay awake?
and if 9 chicks play soccer
while 10 play the cello
when we count to 100
will the whole world be yellow?
ok the book counts to 100, well not really they jump from 10 to 100. The last page has 100 chicks, one has a pink bow (Coco) and another one has sunglasses (I tell Malia that's Coco's boyfriend :)) The rest of the chicks are "normal" looking chicks, but the picture attracts her attention because of the color and the black round eyes on each chick...very cute. I would recommend this book to all Mother's with babies. Here are a few pictures of Malia sitting in her highchair, looking at her favorite book-"Coco Counts".... (unfortunately, I was unable to catch a picture of her excitement smile...but she does have a curious, hmmmm look on her face...so cute!)Date taken: 20OCT08 (4 days shy of 9 months old)

Wow, Malia! It looks like you are really reading. You are getting so big and smart. I can't wait to hear you read for real.
