StopOver to Santa Barbara - 19-20AUG09

On our way home after our trip to San Diego, we decided to stopover in Santa Barbara. We left San Diego around 9am on Wednesday, 19AUG09 and stopped off at the Camarillo Outlets so Mama could go shopping. Mama bought a few items for herself and bought me-Mei Mei some clothes and shoes too. We had a fun time shopping and ate a light lunch at the outlets. We arrived at our hotel (Ramada)in Santa Barbara at about 6pm. We ate dinner at Palapa's a Mexican restaurant, which was ok and if you go to Dada's blog dannysaiz.blogspot.com he will tell you all about the Margarita he had.

We decided to stay in Santa Barbara so Dada could golf at Sandpiper. An early birthday gift from Mama. Sorry no pics. I think Dada will post some on his blog. Dada had a fun time at Sandpiper. Mama and I had breakfast at the hotel, which offered a free continental breakfast...yummy belgium waffles.

We then walked around the grounds of the hotel and saw duckies and turtles. Sorry no pics...Mama forgot to bring the camera. Then we hung out in the hotel room and watched t.v. while we waited for Dada to come back from his golf outting. I got a little bored and started to entertain myself....check me out:

Malia's 2nd Road Trip to San Diego - Day 3 of 3 (18AUG09)

Day 3 - Mama's pedicure day at SpaTerre (the place Kate Goselin took her daughter Maddy). Dada, Malia and Grandma Jane dropped Mama off while they went to Denny's for breakfast. Mama enjoyed her Ice Cream Specialty Pedicure...yum strawberry ice cream at 9am :) After Mama's pedicure, we walked around the resort. Our first stop was the Tower. The sign read "81 stairs - climb slowly" ugh huh sure 81 steps no problem. We should've listened to the sign "climb slowly" key word: slowly. All of us were so out of breath and thighs were burning except for Princess Malia who was carried by Mama all the way up....we were so exhausted. We thought we'd stay up at the top of the tower for a while so we can catch our breath. Check out the pics we took at the top of the tower:

After we slowly walked down the stairs of the tower, we finished walking the grounds of the resort. Along the way we saw some duckies...quack quack!, sharks and coi. No turtles this time :(

We headed back to the condo to rest a little. We all got a little hungry and ended up walking to a nearby Pizza joint - Gabbiano's Pizzeria. Yummy cheese pizza, a little greasy but tasty. Grandma and Grandpa got sandwiches. Unfortunately, we were running out of time and didn't get a chance to go to the beach and try out Malia's new sand toys. We'll have to go next time. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for all the sand toys and golf clubs.

Later in the evening after Mama and Malia's nap, we met up with Dada's friend Chris and his wife Kristy and son Christopher at Belmont Park. Christopher is 11 months older than Malia. Malia and Christopher had fun riding the carousel and water boats. The submarine ride was a little scary for Malia and she gripped Mama the whole ride - no crying though so that was good. We all went to dinner at this Italian restaurant near Belmont Park called Luigi's. Dada and Mama shared some delicious cheese raviloi's with meat sauce, while Malia had her favorite cheese quesadilla. We had a fun visit with the Eaton family. Glad they took the time to come meet us at Belmont Park! Here's some pics we took at Belmont Park:

Goodbye hug or as Malia knows it as:
"Awh Awh" (hug in Cantonese)

Malia's 2nd Road Trip to San Diego - Day 2 of 3 (17AUG09)

Day 2 - Monday, 17AUG09 = The Trophy Cup Tournament between Daniel, Bill and Erick...8:30am Tee Time....and the Trophy goes to....Grandpa Bill...poor Dada (Daniel), but Congratulations to Grandpa Bill! (Sorry no pics)

While the boys were golfing Malia, Mama (Dina) and Grandma Jane went to breakfast at Denny's. After our nice breakfast we went to IKEA!! Woo Hoo the girls day for shopping. Got a plush soccer ball and a netty toy bin for Malia. Grandma Jane found a few things for herself and also a great find on laptop computer holders for $2.49ea.!! What a steal. Thanks Grandma Jane. Here's a couple of pics of Malia testing out some chairs at IKEA (we're thinking of buying the tan chair since its only $34.99 - great price):

Later that evening, we went to the Padres vs. Cubs game at Petco Park. Our first time at Petco Park and Malia's first baseball game. We met up with Auntie Christina and Uncle Jeremiah. It was an awesome game...the Padres won 4-1. Auntie Christina got us some awesome tickets - Club Level behind homeplate. Thank you, Auntie Christina.

Malia did very well at the game. Malia wanted to walk around a few times so Mama and Dada took turns walking around with her. One of the workers gave Malia a Padres tattoo...see pic below...so cute! We all had a fun time....see the pics we took below:

Malia's 2nd Road Trip to San Diego - Day 1 of 3 (16AUG09)

We left at 6:30am on Sunday, 16AUG09 and drove down to San Diego. We arrived in San Diego at 3:15pm after making a few stops along the way. Our first stop was Great Grandma and Grandpa Wales house. This was the first time they met Malia. Malia really enjoyed her time at Great G. & G. Wales house especially playing with their Woah Woah's (i.e. dogs and new puppies). Check out the pictures and video below:

The condo we stayed at was ready at 4:30pm, so we headed over to check-in. We had a very nice view of the bay. Thank you Grandma Jane and Grandpa Bill for inviting us to stay. Here's a couple of pics of our view, the patio and the livingroom:

Later that evening, we went to Great Grandma and Grandpa Saiz's for dinner. Now that Malia is over 1 years old, she was able to taste Great Grandma's delicious Mexican food. "Malia, What do you say when something tastes good? Malia: Mmmmmm!!

We had a nice visit with Great G. & G. Saiz and Great Auntie Liz. We missed Grandpa Abel, Grandma Lori and Uncle Gabriel who couldn't make it. Here's a couple of pics we took below:
